Three of Cinema’s Greatest Scenes that Involve Swimming Pools

By now, you probably know the benefits of swimming pool finishes. We’ve touched on that topic numerous times, and we’ll most definitely be talking about it again sometime in the future. But right now, while the pools are closed for the season, and people are singing Christmas carols, the only way to see pools and remind yourself that summer will come again…is to watch movies that involve pool scenes.

Here at ecoFINISH®, we could watch movies that involve pools year-round. In fact, it’s practically what we live for! Anyway, we’ve selected three of cinema’s greatest pool scenes that can keep you company while you wait for spring to arrive and pools to start opening again. Here they are:

1.    Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Although this classic movie was known for Ferris Bueller’s antics on a day off that was probably every high schooler’s dream at some point; it also has a memorable pool scene. Ferris, his best friend Cameron, and his girlfriend Sloane sneak into someone’s backyard to use the pool. They talk about their futures and try to break Cameron out of his funk in the process.

2.    Vacation by National Lampoon – Vacation is yet another classic comedy with a fantastic pool scene. In this movie, Chevy Chase’s character Clark goes on a vacation that he’ll probably never forget, but not in a good way (but it is in a hilarious way for viewers). After frequently seeing a blonde in a convertible throughout the trip, he finally meets her at a hotel he’s staying at…and decides to take a dip with her. But not before saying, “This is crazy. This is crazy. This is crazy.”

3.    The Sandlot – Forever reminding us of the lazy days of summer when we were kids, this movie has the ultimate pool scene. Michael “Squints” Palledorous, one of the young sandlot ballplayers, decides he wants to kiss the lifeguard that he and all of his friends have a crush on: Wendy Peffercorn. To do so, he makes a plan to jump off the diving board and pretend he’s drowning so she’ll give him CPR. Well, he certainly gets his “kiss,” as well as a spot in cinema history.
